Privacy policy
Last updated 2026-10-11. Feedbreak is made by Pointerflow LLC. This page says in plain language what Feedbreak does with your data.
The short version
- Feedbreak never reads, stores or sends the pages you visit.
- Your settings and stats live on your device. The free version needs no account.
- We have no ads, no trackers and we do not sell data.
What stays on your device
Your settings, your always-show lists, your time-back stats and any items you save for later are stored in your browser. Smart features, such as intent mode and topic filters, run on your device using your browser's built-in AI where available, or simple keyword rules where it is not.
What we never collect
- URLs, page text, video titles or post content
- Account names, messages or browsing history
"Save for later" stores only what you chose to save, and only if you ask. Titles and links are read on your device at that moment.
What we do collect
- Anonymous usage counts. A random install ID (only if you agree to analytics), the extension version, your browser name and which sites are enabled, plus simple counts such as how many items were hidden. You can turn this off with one switch in Settings. On Firefox it is off until you opt in.
- Rule updates. Your browser asks our servers for the latest hide rules. The request carries your install ID and the rule version, nothing else. Rules are signed data, never code.
- Reports. If you press "Report a break", the sheet shows you exactly what will be sent: a structural outline of the element (tag names, class names, position), never its text.
- Uninstall survey. If you answer it, we receive your chosen reason, your note and your install ID. You can skip it.
- Early-access list. If you enter your email on this site, we store it to send one launch email. Ask us and we will delete it.
Pro accounts
If you sign up for Pro we store your email, your plan, and what you choose to sync across devices: your settings, the items you save for later (only what you save), and daily counts such as minutes reclaimed. Your install ID is sent only if you have agreed to analytics. Checkout links never contain any ID. Payments are handled by our merchant of record; we never see your card details.
Intent mode. If you turn on intent mode (it is opt-in), video and post titles are read on your device only to match your stated intent. They are never stored or sent anywhere.
Permissions
Feedbreak asks for access only to the sites you choose, one at a time. It does not request access to all websites, your tabs, your history or your cookies by default.
Limited Use disclosure
The use of information received from browser APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use data only to provide and improve the single purpose of Feedbreak, which is reducing distractions on social media sites. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or transfer it except as needed to provide the service or comply with the law.
Cookies and analytics on this website
This website uses cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics and no third-party trackers. A small setting in your browser remembers your light or dark choice.
Your choices
You can turn off usage counts, remove the extension at any time, and ask us to delete any data tied to your email or install ID. Write to support@pointerapps.net.
